Der panzer auf der Bühne sieht doch total geil aus. Gut das mit den 90 Minuten Konzert, ist so ein Problem bei Maiden. Also da wär ich auch mal dafür, das sie die Show auf 2 Stunden ausdehnen. aber wie gesagt trotz aller Kritik freu ich mich auf das Konzert mit maiden. -------------------------------------------------

Jetzt haben MAIDEN vollens meinen absoluten Respekt und meine ganze Hochachtung!! Ein absolut neues Album auf ner Tour ganz zu spielen,wenn das nicht mutig ist!! Sie machen es sich sicher nicht leicht mit der Setlist!Denn eins ist ja auch klar,für MAIDEN wär es sicher auch einfacher die alten Klassiker zu spielen als das neue Album Komplett(Allein der Gesang-MEGA). Ich finds auserdem Genial,das Sie durchziehen,was sie eigendlich von Anfang an gesagt haben und das sicher nicht weil es leichter für Sie ist (im Gegenteil),sondern weil MAIDEN dieses Album für das richtige halten um es ganz zu spielen.Sie lassen sich wieder von niemand hineinreden und das ist genau richtig so!!weil es wurde hier ja auch schon angesprochen,Sie könnten im Prinzip spielen was Sie wollen,es wird immer einige geben denen es nicht gefällt! ------------------------------------------------
Finde die Setlist extrem geil Auf "Out of Shadowas" hätten sie verzichten können und stattdessen ein Klassiker einbauen können wie:Aces High oder Infinite Dreams.. vll ändert sich ja die Setlist für die Europa-Gigs. _________________________________________________ 22, the avenue that's the place where we all go..

Now my commentary on the 10/4/06 Opening Night show in Hartford, CT. The sound was rather muddy for about the first 5-6 songs. I was two rows behind the pit, center stage (row I). Great view without the jostling of the pit...and good for taking pics.
During Bruce's talk between The Longest Day and OotS, he mentioned that they indeed were going to play the entire album...which made me happy since they hadn't played Lord of Light yet! He also mentioned that this was the first Maiden album to hit the Top 10 in the USA, so "Thank You" to all us Americans! Otherwise, he was surprisingly NOT outspoken as he usually is.
The stage decor was war related as expected...sandbag bunkers around the monitors, album cover type artwork as backdrop during many of the songs, etc. Generally a pretty good response to the new stuff, but I was up front so not sure how the reaction was in back. Eddie came out in army gear during the encore (I think during TETMD). Also, during Iron Maiden, a big tank rose behind the drum riser and out pops Eddie from the top as the tank cannon swivels forward.
The facility was closed off at the back, so no lawn seating (it's one of those covered/open amphitheaters you find everywhere in the US). It looked pretty full, but the very last section looked to be roped off and unused. Not sure what the interior holds, but I'm guessing a crowd of 6-7,000.
Bruce's mic either kept cutting out or they failed to turn it back up after his running about b/c many times his vocals were inaudible when he came in on a new verse or chorus (not just being lost in the mix). The first time, he looked pretty annoyed.
The boys had a huge amount of trouble with the Legacy. The bass/guitars just couldn't come in together during the "plaintive" parts of the song. They'll have to tighten that up. It almost seemed to me that Harry was the culprit ["Schuldige"] coming in early. But the acoustic guitars that they had set up for all three sounded a little rough too. Also, H sounded off at the beginning of Lord of Light (I think that was the one)....either off key or something else off kilter.
Everybody but Bruce seemed to really be enjoying themselves. Davey was really getting into it (in a good way) with some fans in front of him, especially at the beginning. Bruce was his normal self, running all over hell and getting the crowd revved up.
The Evil That Men Do was a very pleasant surprise! It sounded great in the encore. After the show, the guys next to me were dumbfounded ["verblüfft"] that they didn't play The Trooper! Well, we got 1 hour 50 minutes of great music.... I actually was happy to hear TETMD instead!
All in all, a very fun show. The sound was lacking but I'm not complaining. I don't begrudge them for playing the entire new album, but I know that will not go over well with a lot of casual Maiden fans. Clearly Bruce has been saying, "this is an album tour", not a greatest hits parade.

Sie haben es tatsächlich getan und eigentlich ist es ja ganz okay das gesamte Album zu spielen obwohl ich meine das the Pilgrim, Lord of light und Out of Shadows nicht so die Live Knaller sind, dafür dann mal wieder Remember Tomorrow, Still Life und Flight of Icarus Live hören!! Different World als Opener und die restlichen Songs vom neuen Album das ist okay, jedenfalls für mich.
Ich freu mich immernoch auf Dortmund und darauf Maiden Live zu sehn und wenn ich mich nicht täusche spielen sie länger als auf der DOD Tour, wenn ich so rechne werden es wohl so ca 105 Minuten.
Na egal, so oder so es wird ein geiles Konzert werden, weil Maiden spielen und weils nix besseres gibts als mit gleichgesinnten die beste Band des Universums abzufeiern!!
Sehr interessanter Bericht. Aber das Dickenson gesagt hat: "Das ist ne Album Tour und keine Greatest Hits Parrade" gefällt mir nicht. Klar ist es ne Albumtour aber deswegen muss man doch nicht gleich die ganze Scheibe spielen verdammt.
Also wenn schon unbedingt das neue Album komplett gespielt wird sollte die Seltist meiner Meinung nach vollgendermaßen aussehen:

Des wären vielleicht gerade mal 10-15 Minuten mehr und die sture Reihenfolge des Albums wäre auch unterbrochen. Wieso können sie es denn nicht so machen verdammt!
Habe bewusst auf Run to the hills verzichtet aber Hallowed wird mit Sicherheit ein guter Schlusspunkt sein!
Ein Forum dient der Meinungsäußerung, sicher! Ich würde es allerdings sehr begrüßen wenn wir die Tatsachen abwarten und uns auf ein Ziel fixieren: Unsere gemeinsame Vorliebe für Iron Maiden leben und nach den Shows auf die Kac.. hauen. Schließlich wäre es weitgehend unfair die Show jetzt schon in den Himmel oder in die Hölle zu schreien. Keinem, außer den Boys selber –wenn überhaupt-, ist bekannt was Europa erwartet.
Sie haben ein geiles Album gemacht, und deswegen machen Sie es so. Was ich geil finden würde, wenn die restlichen Stücke von Abend zu Abend variieren würden(wobei Hallowed und Iron Maiden ja wohl fix sind)und es könnten ruhig 2 Stücke mehr sein.
Ich poste hier mal noch ein paar Dinge, ich in MaidenFansUnited lese und vielleicht noch andere interessieren.

Well, I was at center stage and about two rows back, so I had just about the best position one could have. The people around me knew the AMOLAD songs pretty thoroughly...lots of singing along on the choruses and ooh-oohing during the harmonies.
I heard a few scattered boos when Bruce announced they would play the entire album, but overall the reaction was very positive. When they wrapped up The Legacy, the crowd gave them the equivalent of a standing ovation.

Heh...well, I really didn't think they'd do it, but they did: Maiden played AMOLAD in its entirety...and frankly, it was pretty damn good, better than I would've thought.
The stage was fairly standard...a catwalk behind the drumkit which extended to the foot of the stage on the wings...three platforms extending right up to the audience for the three guitarists.
The backdrop was a silhoutte of a bombed out city from the WWII era (either London or Berlin...it's a fairly famous photo) backlit in blood red. Pretty dramatic.
Maiden hit the stage and launched into a spirited version of Different World. Bruce did his massive frog leap over the monitor before nailing the first line (does this fucking guy ever age??)
The crowd was surprisingly loud, welcomed the new songs and sang them with enthusiasism, which pleased the band greatly. The interior of the amphitheatre was walled off, which made it stiflingly hot.
Bruce mentioned that the title of AMOLAD comes from a British film, the American re-make of which was titled "Heaven Can Wait"...interesting bit of trivia.
By FTGGOG, Bruce seemed to be feeling some serious pain. The vocals on the final three songs stretched his voice to the breaking point, and he was having difficulty wheezing out the high notes.
For this reason, I was convinced they would'nt play the entire album live. I have a feeling Bruce will have the urge to murder whoever decided this (*cough* Steve *cough*)
Aside from Bruce, the songs sounded great live. Adrian Dave and Janick nailed their guitar parts. Janick in particular impressed (only because he's usually such a goof-off). Lots of cool mood lighting and effects to set the atmosphere.
Nicko botched the timing on the start/stop section of the Legacy, but no major flubs beyond that.
The crowd went berserk during FOTD and moshpits actually broke out in the GA section.
During the climax of Iron Maiden, a giant tank turrett rose up from behind Nicko, helmed by a helmeted Eddie wielding binoculars. The turret proceeded to rotate until the massive gunbarrel was pointed towards the crowd and started glowing red. Melodramatic and a bit cheesy to be sure, but it was very cool.
The encore was surprising for what WASN'T included (The Trooper, NOTB, RTTH) which was refreshing for someone who's seen them 5 times.
Bruce's parting words, "Remember, it's not just a matter of life and death...it's a whole lot more fucking important than that."
All in all, a very good night, but if you don't like AMOLAD, scalp your tickets.

Also, das macht mir jetzt echt Sorgen mit Bruce. Hatte ich irgendwie schon befürchtet, dass er das nicht ganz packt mit den hohen Refrains. Aber das Album komplett zu spielen war sicherlich nicht allein Steve's Idee. Bruce hat doch in allen Interviews davon geredet, oder etwa nicht? Hoffentlich bessert sich das im Verlauf der Tour..

Na gut, ich sag mal die meinungen gehen auseinander. Das Problem ist halt, das AMOLAD Album ist noch zu neu und noch nicht vertraut, deshalb stimmt es , das es gewagt ist das ganze Album auf die Bühne zu bringen. Natürlich wäre 50% neu und 50% Klassiker besser gewesen, aber wie schon gesagt wurde, man muss die Entscheidung respektieren. Nur Fan sein bedeutet auch mal kritisch seine Meinung zu sagen und deshalb sollten auch die Leute akzeptiert werden , die von der SET- List enttäuscht sind. mein persönlicher Bestsong ( Wickerman ) ist auch nicht vertreten. Aber egal, auf das Konzert freu ich mich trotzdem! -------------------------------------------------

Hier gibts Leute die verhalten sich wie ein Kleinkind dem man den Lolli geklaut hat. Geht ihr nur auf ein Maiden Konzert um Notb und Rtth zu hören ?? Und wenn die Songs nicht kommen ist automatisch alles scheisse. Super Einstellung. Ich kann mich nur wiederholen, dass ich froh bin nicht wieder die gleichen alten Kamellen zu hören sondern mal Sachen die ich noch nicht live gehört habe wie 2 Minutes und Evil.
Quatsch würd ich die Meinungen anderer nicht unbedingt bezeichnen. es sollten ja nicht nur die alten Songs gespielt werden. Natürlich neue. Nur zum 1000sten male, ich find die Set- List nicht schlecht. -------------------------------------------------

Naja, die Setlist ist jetzt nicht gerade mein Traum, aber ich akzeptiere es und find's stark, dass sie das durchziehen. Ich hab nichts dagegen, dass sie AMOLAD komplett spielen, aber ich hätte mir eine andere Reihenfolge und vielleicht ein paar Überraschungen gewünscht. Q Wishmaster: Also rumheulen tut hier wohl keiner. So etwas nennt man Kritig üben! Dortmund wird mein zweites Maidenkonzert (Bzw. mein erstes reines Maidenkonzert abgesehen von Rock Am Ring 2005) Und ich finde (wie auch andere hier) das gewisse Songs einfach dazu gehören, auch wenn sie schon 1000 mal gespielt wurden.
AC/DC würden von den Fans erschlagen werden wenn sie Highway To Hell nicht spielen würden. Deep Purple dürften auch kein Konzert ohne Smoke On The Water beenden und die Stones können auch nicht auf Satisfaction verzichten.
Und zu Maiden gehört einfach Number Of The Beast. Und ich finde es scheiße von Maiden dass sie nur weil sie unbedingt ihr Ding durchziehen wollen auf diesen so wichtigen Song verzichten und somit viele ihrer Fans enttäuschen. Das was mich aber am allermeisten nervt ist die Tatsache, dass das Album direkt am Stück einfach so runtergezockt wird. Sie haben sich ja nichtmal die Mühe gemacht die Reihenfolger der Tracklist auf dem Album zu verändern oder die Abfolge mit dem einen oder andern Klassiker zu verändern. Es ist ja schließlich kein Konzeptalbum wie Seventh Son.
Wieso sollten sie die Reihenfolge auch ändern man ? Dafür gibts doch keinen Grund !!!!! Das passt doch perfekt , schon eine Art Konzept könnte dies werden..viel besser als wenn die Songs gemischt würden..also verzapf mal hier keinen schmarn von wegen "keine mühe" oder "ding durchziehen"
